Dr. Phelps is a recent Texas transplant, born and raised in the Midwest (Ohio). She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Illinois and attended medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Phelps then completed a four-year residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati followed by a fellowship in Sports Medicine through the Bethesda Family Medicine Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Phelps is passionate about providing personalized, non-surgical, clinical care to acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions/injuries. She specializes in concussion management, osteoarthritis management and Health & Wellness Education (ages 1-101). In addition to Orthopedics, she has a great deal of experience in Primary Care, Addiction Medicine, as well as depression, anxiety and ADD/ADHD.
Dr. Phelps has a friendly, hands-on, all-in approach to practicing medicine. She has worked as a flight physician, Cincinnati S.W.A.T. physician and team physician for a variety of different sports teams. She has experience working with all levels of athletes including high school, NCAA Divisions I-III, MLB, NFL, professional long-distance runners and USA Rugby.
Dr. Phelps and her husband Brian have four children, Madden, Meran, Mason and Hawk. She loves traveling with her family and watching her kids’ sports games. She is excited for her new adventures in Texas.
