Knee Pain

Can you help with my knee pain?

MaxHealth Family, Internal, & Sports Medicine can assess and treat many forms of joint pain.  Knee pain is a common problem and can be caused by many different things.

  • Sudden injury

  • Overuse injury

  • Arthritis or another underlying condition

Treatments of knee pain vary as widely as the causes.  Symptoms can include swelling, stiffness, and pain.  The pain can be diffusely throughout the entire knee or even be localized to just one area and often causes movement restriction.

Even severe knee pain typically has a good prognosis, although surgery or other interventions may be necessary.

If your knee pain does not ease or disappear with a few days of rest, it should be evaluated by a doctor.  MaxHealth Family, Internal, & Sports Medicine offers an assessment of joint pains and can put you back on the path to pain-free mobility.

An examination of the knee will be necessary.  The doctor will examine the motion of the knee, stability of the ligaments, and look for specific points of pain or swelling.  After comparing it to the nonpainful knee, an x-ray may be required.  A blood test may be ordered if arthritis or gout is suspected.

Treatment will depend on the source of the pain, but the experts at MaxHealth Family, Internal, & Sports Medicine will find the best treatment plan for your individual situation.
