Jake Smith

MaxFitness Manager

Jake Smith was born in Dallas, TX and spent most of his childhood in North Texas before moving to Wisconsin for a handful of years, only to return home to Texas. Throughout his childhood, Jake was always a physically active child. If he wasn’t climbing trees or playing tag with the girls, he was on his bike finding the best route and/or jumps to take it on. As he grew older, his habitual need to move led him to participate in a wide variety of sports, from soccer, track, football, powerlifting, bodybuilding, kickboxing, cycling, and even dabbling in rugby.

Today, Jake can confidently say he has followed the advice of his mother and his coaches: to find a way to get paid doing what you love so you’ll never work a day in your life. Before he graduated from Keller High School, Jake already knew what his career choice would be: to help people reach their full potential with their health and fitness. Jake became a certified Fitness Trainer at the age of 18 and went on to earn the title of Master Fitness Trainer with the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), including certifications in Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, Exercise Therapy, Senior Fitness, Youth Fitness, Behavior Modification, Body Building, and Corrective Exercise. Jake went on to earn his degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis on Personal Training through the ISSA and now has his sights set on advancing his education towards Psychology and/or Dietician.

Jake firmly believes the fitness lifestyle is not exclusive to professional athletes but is instead something anyone of any age can achieve. Through his 16+ years of working with patients and clients, Jake has learned the only real limiting factor between failure and success in fitness is an individual’s belief in themselves when it comes to attempting something they have never done before. Jake can relate to all the negative feelings and emotions that can derail anyone's motivation. He has been overweight, underweight, nearly died from substance abuse, endured personal and professional failure, and overcame the immense gravity of depression due to heartbreak and losing loved ones long before their time. Because of his successes and failures, he takes great pride in guiding his patients to finding belief within themselves so they too can overcome obstacles and take control of their wellbeing.

Jake joined the MaxHealth team in 2012 and couldn’t ask for a better team to work with. He spent his years before MaxFitness helping thousands of clients through private training and various gyms around the metroplex and feels honored to share his expertise with the patients of MaxHealth.
