  • Licensed Professional Counselor since 2006

    1. Board Certified in Neurofeedback since 2002

Tiffany Patton-Barnes was raised in El Paso, Texas, where she became interested in psychology at a very young age. In her teens, she began volunteering at crisis intervention centers, nursing homes, the Lion’s Club and Prevent Blindness. Tiffany then earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish from the University of North Texas (UNT). She went on to complete a Master of Science from UNT’s Department of Rehabilitation, Social Work and Addictions, where she first learned and fell in love with EEG Biofeedback (Neurofeedback).

While completing her studies in Neurofeedback at UNT’s Neurotherapy Lab, Tiffany was selected to be the Clinical Coordinator and assisted in training, teaching and mentoring other Neurofeedback students. She earned her Board Certification in Neurofeedback in 2002 and was licensed as a Professional Counselor in 2006.  In 2013, she earned her QEEGT certification.

In 2011, Tiffany joined the Acuity Brain Center team to treat patients with a variety of brain-related conditions, such as ADHD, learning disabilities, OCD, depression, anxiety, addictions, eating disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and insomnia. Because of her vast experience in both counseling and neurofeedback, Tiffany can offer an integrated mind-body approach to patient treatment. She serves as both a counselor and life coach, where she customizes a multi-modal intervention plan to use with each patient to best address their condition. Typical interventions that she uses and finds very effective include neurofeedback, biofeedback, counseling, self-regulation techniques, lifestyle choices, diet, exercise, sleep, and parenting styles.

In addition to her work at MaxHealth and the Acuity Brain Institute, Tiffany conducts QEEG assessments, Neurofeedback and Bio-Acoustical Utilization Device training at the Lawlis Peavey PsychoNeuroPlasticity Center, leads the Applied Brain-Body Solutions Clinic, and serves as a consultant for numerous facilities in the DFW area. She served on the Board for the Biofeedback Society of Texas and has been a long-standing member of the International Society of Neurofeedback and Research and the Association of Applied Psychophysiological Biofeedback.

In her free time, Tiffany has an active family life with her husband and son. She values her spirituality, exercise, and being involved in her son’s school activities.
